I take a no-nonsense approach to therapy that mixes old theory with new ideas, like a vintage flip. I think that what makes each of us unique comes from our earliest experiences, then our ideas about the world are shaped by what else happens in life. I’m holistic-minded and trauma-informed, so I understand how each part of life contributes to well-being, and how some patterns that we have to undo come from experiences we might not have even had firsthand.
I’m specially trained in a few key areas that not many people think to put together (Adlerian therapy, mindfulness, CBT, EMDR, Gottman.) We’ll work together to find the best combination of approaches to create a treatment plan that’s tailored to your unique needs. I practice what I preach, so you can trust that working with me means that I can relate on the level of lived experiences, plus my knowledge and continued training. I’m book smart and street smart when it comes to therapy.
My counselling practice is gender, body, sexuality, and race inclusive. I reside and provide services from the unceded ancestral territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking people and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh first nations peoples that was not surrendered. I stay sharp by regularly seeking education to increase cultural safety and humility, learning ways to queer my practice, participating in conferences and seeking continued training.
